The clients brief for this project was to develop the existing small cottage into a modern home and to remove the existing 90's lean-to building which wasn't in-keeping with the property and replace it with something that will complement the existing cottage which is within a conservation area.
The final design is one of two halves similar to its neighbour, from the front the main elevation to the house remains understated with a renovated exterior and a modern glazed gable extension to the rear / side forming an open plan kitchen and dining room with a master bedroom and ensuite to the first floor. The large open plan kitchen / dining room will open out onto a courtyard garden which will blur the boundaries of inside and out to form one space.
